Andrew has been in ministry since 1990; after pioneering a youth program in Castle Hill, he served as a full time pastor with Ps Brian and Bobbie Houston for six years before he and his wife, Mary Ann were invited by Pastor John McMartin to become associate pastors of Liverpool Christian Life Centre in 1999.
In 2004 Andrew and Mary Ann planted Bay City Church, an innovative strong church in the heart of the Rockdale Shire.
Andrew’s passion to see a local church influence its community has seen Bay City Church now partner with 11 churches across the state of NSW to establish a practical food program called Community FoodCare. This program now supports thousands of people each week while opening the door for churches to build a relevant connection to the people in their local community.
In 2010, the Bay City Care Women’s Support Service was launched; a Domestic Violence housing support service which including crisis counselling, case management and housing support. In February 2013, the Bay City Care Community Support and Counselling Centre was opened. The centre is located in the heart of our local community in Rockdale where we continue to provide Domestic Violence crisis support, specialised counselling, case management, group programs, emergency food relief, as well as Domestic Violence respectful relationships and early intervention/prevention programs for both primary and secondary schools.
Bay City’s work within the community has seen Andrew form strong relationships with members of Bayside Council (formerly Rockdale City Council) where he has served as a Chaplain for over 8 years, regularly opening council meetings in prayer. In 2010 Andrew also initiated Carols by The Sea, a Christmas event held on Brighton Le Sands Beach every year which is fully funded by Bayside Council.
With strong foundations and a firm belief that discipleship is their commission and social justice their responsibility, Andrew and Mary Ann are believing for growth and influence in both their church family and local community while staying devoted to the cause of Christ.
